Possibly you are extraordinarily sensitive to the eyedrops. This happened to me, not with the cataract surgery which worked very well, but with another eye condition. The more the eye hurt, the more I put the drops in, and then the eye hurt even more. (As I remember, the problematic drops were antiseptic drops.) Finally I got the doctor’s attention and he told me to quit the drops, but monitor how my eye behaved closely. It worked.

Correction to my previous post. The doctor told me to use the problematic antiseptic eyedrops, but then to wash them out in a few minutes with sterile water eyedrops. This took care of the problem. ( This was maybe 15 years ago.)
