Chronic dry eye syndrome: What helps dry, itchy, swollen eyes?
Hi. Anyone have a solution (no pun intended) for chronic dry eye syndrome? Not Sjorgens. Hot? Cold? Oil? Drops? Duct blockage? Seems everyone uses everything with only moderate success. Saw ophthalmologist. Said use refresh🤷♀️

I have the same issue, due to Grave’s disease - was treated with irradiation of the thyroid. Since then suffered dry eyes with itching and burning and severe tearing of my eyes, to the point that it looked like I was crying. Doctor told me to start using Sustain eye drops. I’ve had good results since starting, but need to use them 4 to 5 times daily. At least they are over the counter, so not to expensive.

2 ReactionsI use the same eye drops and find them quite effective but I also use it several times a day, the symptoms are worse sometimes so I basically go day by day, it’s truly awful having dry eyes that water all the time, I can’t even wear makeup anymore, not a big deal just frustrating,

1 ReactionI also gave up on wearing makeup. I hear people comment about it, but if they don’t like what they are seeing, they can just turn their head and look elsewhere. Life is too short to worry about other people’s opinions about how I look.

3 ReactionsI have tried everything IPL, hot compresses, steam machines, tons of drops of all kinds, I tried Blephex which helped somewhat.. it’s like an electric toothbrush on your eyes, not as bad as it sounds.. has to be done in office? If you find a miracle let me know! Please

2 ReactionsIt's OTC and recommended to me by my opthalmologist.
I had tried everything as well. Even Rx eye drops. This simple OTC product works. No more dry, gritty, stinging eyes. I can read up until 1 or 2am if I please.
I did look up some information about this but it seems that you have to use medication with it, apparently they said it won’t work on its own?
It also said that EPA, DHA, found in omega three fats are the best for treating dry eyes, this is what I find most frustrating about researching, you always get so many different answers, I suppose if you’re getting good results then why change anything.
