Ask your doctor if the hip pain is radiating out from the bursa or whether the whole IT band is inflamed. Bursitis in the hip is often caused by the IT band rubbing on the "trochanter". Sometimes doctors give physical therapy or cortisone shots for hip bursitis. I have had both, but sinar shockwave treatments worked best and fastest. Check with a physiatrist in your area who has 20 or more years of experience. You could also look up "regenerative medicine" in your area but be sure you are dealing with a real doctor.
