Unfortunately, I didn’t know I had os peroneum in both feet and I started doing ballet bar exercise routines. I loved them and did them too much (daily – I’m an overachiever ) and wound up with peroneal tendinitis in both feet and multiple tendon tears.. I had surgery on my right foot involving a removal of the shattered os peroneum and tendon transfer. Unfortunately, it has not gone well. I sought a second opinion with a surgeon and a physiatrist at Johns Hopkins and they recommended shockwave therapy to both feet. So to answer your question, I don’t know whether my case is unusual, but I had a difficult time with surgery. That’s not to say that yours won’t up easier. My surgery was a bit complicated.

Thank you for responding. I had the surgery to repair my tendons 4 weeks ago, and things are going well. I hope to be able start putting weight on my foot after my doctor’s appointment this week. Wishing you well!
