I found the pump did not give me consistent amounts of estrogen. By day 13 out of a 28, cycle I was having menopausal symptoms. It was quite expensive as well. I approached a compounding pharmacy and they created a cream, which lasts for almost 2 months, and costs just a little bit more. And I have no decline in efficacy during that period.

Also, different estradiol creams have different ingredients that can cause allergic reactions or burning. A compounding pharmacist can test for a cream that may not cause you to have the burning.
