My mother had congestive heart failure. She was on Digoxin to make her heart beat stronger and a vasodilator
to open her arteries. She also took furosemide, the water pill, to clear her lungs. She kept getting thinner. Over time her heart kept getting weaker until she died.

Thanks for your replay. My mother was also on Digitalis, as I remember. Think I inherited my parents' medical conditions; cancer and heart problems. Helps to know family history if possible. The Digoxin seems to be regulating heart beat, but Midodrine is only a temporary help to increase blood pressure for about three hours. Takes a while to figure out how each prescription is working'

@lenmayo , I’m sorry about your mother. Do you mind saying what her heart issue was originally? Or did she just start with arrhythmia trouble? And, how long did she have her symptoms?

My dad had afib after cardiovascular issues, heart attack, quadruple bypass, stents, etc. He treated his Afib successfully with meds then cardioversion.

Now, my mom who is 84 is having issues. Abnormal 2 week heart monitor results, has fatigue, flutter, prescribed Diltiazem until return appointment. I’m anxious until then. My mom has medication anxiety, so……..
