Glad you were diagnosed, @irishnanny3. Sorry to hear you're been having TIAs for some time.

Since you mentioned being diagnosed with polycythemia vera, I'd encourage you to take a look at this or other PV discussions in Mayo Clinic Connect's Blood Cancers & Disorders support group:

- Polycythemia Vera: Just been diagnosed https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/polycythemia-vera-1/

How are you doing on the blood thinner and
hydroxyurea?

The blood thinner and hydroxy have kept numbers in safe range. Two biggest problems are multiple skin cancers, requiring MOHS surgery on my face. Both the PV and the hydroxy make them occur frequently
Other issue is I was diagnosed with central pain syndrome ( my stroke was in thalamic region of my brain)
Entire left side of my body affected. Have tried every option to treat available to no avail.. every med, including fentanyl and methadone, acupuncture,
Marijuana , pain management specialists ,
Physiatrist, neurologist, etc
I had NHL in the past and
got through that, but this is
my challenge
