@tony42miles - I'm really sorry to hear about these side effects you've experienced from entacapone and rasagiline (Azilect).

Here's a current Mayo Clinic Connect discussion on entacapone you may want to check out:

- Entacapone to supplement Sinemet https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/anyone-using-entacapone-to-supplement-sinemet/

The members there may have some input on what you experienced that sent you to the hospital.

In the meantime, I've moved your post related to rasagiline (Azilect) here so you can talk to members such as @cartercd @angood1969 @dlc1953 and others:

- Azilect for PD https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/has-anyone-taken-azalea-for-pd/

Also inviting @hopeful33250 to this discussion, as she may have input related to side effects from rasagiline (Azilect).

What does the doctor who suggested you titrate down on rasagiline (Azilect) say about your dopamine levels going up and down and whether there might be alternate titration plans you could follow?

Hello @tony42miles,

I am sorry to hear that the Entacapone caused you so many problems. If you don't mind me asking, how much were you taking? Everyone reacts differently to medications. I've taken a medication that was a combo of carbidopa/levodopa and entacopone, called Stalevo (https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-76453/carbidopa-levodopa-entacapone-oral/details). I only took one a day, and then I took just carbidopa/levodopa once or twice a day. I don't recall having any side effects, but we all react differently to meds.

As I've never taken rasagiline (Azilect), I can't comment on that.
