Hi,
I've had several levels in my cervical spine ablated and it helped the NECK pain alot.
For the pain in my shoulder blade and down my upper arm he gave me an injection which worked well. It's been about 7 months and my pain is coming back. Please tell me what happened with yours. I get nervous about doing them even though they work.
I have also had several done in my lower back, worked well.

Mine helped alot! The nerves do grow back and may require more ablations but they do work and much better than living in pain.

A new guideline published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) about spinal injections and ablation procedures says don't do them because the risks outweigh any benefits. See this article: https://www.paintreatmentdirectory.com/posts/new-guidelines-on-spinal-injections-and-ablation-procedures

My doctor tested me for it. There are two tests prior to the actual ablation. The first test determined it was not right for me.

I had this done a few years ago and my pain increased significantly! I ended up in the ER. They don’t last as nerves grow back. I won’t ever do this again

An ablation normally lasts 6 -12 months and can correct the pain, but it will probably come back
an thus is really a short term fix. Strongly recommend you discover the underlying problem before you do the ablation.

I would suggest a second opinion from an orthopedic doctor.
I've had a few ablations, they helped for a bit, but stopped being effective.
Hopefully she's had at least 1 Cat scan and 1 recent MRI for her problem and surrounding areas!
It "usually" never once source of pain... It's all connected

I have had several done with no relief, actually seems to have made it worse.
That just me however.
Also recently diagnosed with cord compression so that's probably why I never had relief

I had an RFA in 2016 L2-L5. My pain management team at the time said I may or may not have full relief and that it may not be permanent. I didn't start having pain in my lower back again until 2022. It has gotten progressively worse ove the last 3 years. I had a medial branch block done last week. For me, this was step one. I will have one more Medial Branch block, then the final step will be the RFA. I have high hopes for it since my last one gave me so much relief. It's different for everyone. I did have a hard recovery, but the relief was totally worth it. Has your daughter had a medial branch block? I think that is the diagonostic test used prior to the RFA. At least that's what my pain management team told me and my insurance required it as well. Anyway, I hope your daughter is able to get some relief.
