traveling overseas with an adapter for the portable Pari Trek Nebulize

Posted by ReRE @jcwest211, Jun 29 10:48am

I'm traveling to Italy in a few weeks and I'm concerned about taking the Pari-Trek portable nebulizer to use with an adapter. I saw my pulmonologist last week and he actually told me traveling less than 3 weeks I can forego using either the Aerobika or using hypertonic saline. I'm nervous about not taking them with me. Has anyone else gone on a trip without either of these two? And if you have taken them, what type of Adapter did you bring for eletrical outlets overseas?
Thanks.....sorry for the long questions.

Have you tried the mesh nebulizer? It is a small handheld nebulizer that runs on a rechargeable battery. I changed this months ago and got rid of my bulky, noisy, time consuming small compressor. I am amazed at how efficient it is and so much easier to use and carry in my luggage.

What brand of mesh nebulizer do you use?

Thank you.....I'm trying to avoid bringing the Pari Trek.....I use it every day. I just want a small handheld nebulizer that is quiet. I'm sharing a room with my 8 year old granddaughter.

I would also like to say I have a pulmonologist who is a specialist in bronchiectasis who I like very much. However I am of the opinion that those of us who have BE know more about airway clearance than the doctors do. I get more information from support groups like this and my PT breathing specialist than I do from the pulmo. Go with your gut and what you have learned along the way.

In defens of the medical profession, and specialists in particular, please consider this "rather long" post I just wrote in response to a similar concern;

I travel with mine in a ziplock bag, with the box label inside. This is medical supplies, and while it often draws a second look at security, I have never had it challenged in 7 years of regular fliying.
