How to get thru colonoscopy with severe dry mouth

Having a colonoscopy soon. They said no drinking anything after 3am. My procedure is at 7am. I gave severe dry mouth. I need to have water every so often. How did anyone get thru this.

I have always asked the medical team prior to any surgical/ medical procedure to be allowed to swish and then spit out water...no swallowing. When I am at the medical facility I get 2 cups, 1 with water and 1 to spit in to. Solves the problem.

I did the same. Just swished water in my mouth and spit it out and used my xylimelts

Any procedure including dental check ups I never hesitated to make it known I have no saliva due to previous cancer. It is often not the first rodeo for my clinicians and provides them with an adjustment to the forthcoming care.

Any procedure including dental check ups I never hesitated to make it known I have no saliva due to previous cancer. It is often not the first rodeo for my clinicians and provides them with an adjustment to the forthcoming care.
