I agree that there is no real evidence that AREDS is beneficial. And, as many people who have had adverse reactions to Preservision AREDS2, I can’t believe it’s still on the market with its excessively high zinc and vitamin E content.
Previously in this thread, I posted about my experience with this supplement and provided a link to an article that I agree with that I believe debunks the AREDS study.
Of course, other people have different opinions on this. But we each must make our own informed decisions about our health.

🔬 The AREDS2 study (published 2013, NIH/NEI) found that people with intermediate AMD who took the AREDS2 formula had a 10–25% lower risk of progressing to advanced AMD over 5 years.
