Severe leg cramping

Posted by Helena341 @helena341, Oct 2, 2011

I joined this discussion group because I have diabetes and suffer from severe leg cramping especially at night but not exclusively as they also occur if I'm wearing higher heeled shoes. Does anyone here have cramping in their legs so severe that you need to get up during the night because pain disturbs your sleep? This happens to me often and trying to find answers. Doctors have not as yet determined the cause. Thanks for any help you may have.

When I was low on progesterone, I got severe leg cramping. This was in premenopause. The solution is to take progesterone and then into full blown menopause biest (age 51). Have your female hormones checked out.

This can be a basic medical solution, but it gets complicated due to human behavior , activity and consumption or lack of.
As we go through life our bodies change, and our years are realigned by our environment. Think about what we do daily at different points of our life and realize our bodies have changed and we need to meet the needs of our body by giving it what it needs to go on with a quality of Life and longevity outcome feeling energetic and healthy.
So is there an easy solution? No for all of us to do the same thing, Yes, if we seek what our bodies need!

K.I.S.S.(keep it simple stupid): I promise you will be happy with the results. But keep in mind, the body continues to evolve and you will have to evolve with your body to continue to achieve your desired outcome.

Step 1: get a blood test to check your levels ( learn how to read your results).
* IDENTIFY what you are low in, this will help you with giving your body what it is lacking.

Step 2: Consult with your Doctor on what you need to do next and what supplement and dosage you should take to get your blood test in balance .
Example: low B-12 versus how much do I need daily in the form of a vitamin supplement?
Take this daily and recheck your blood test in 6 months to see if your dosage is working, if not you will need to increase the amount you take daily until your blood test shows you are not negative in B-12.

* We are all different, it took a year for my blood levels to balance out of the negative, you might take less, but don’t give up, you will achieve success and a healthy outcome.

Do this with all your negative blood results and most of your healthy issues concerning lack of this vitamins and minerals will go away.

How to Prevent Muscle cramps and Spasms before they start will take a comprehensive metabolic blood test, to identify your negative results.

My success came from identifying my own poor eating habits, and my poor health and activity habits:
A. Eating the wrong foods
B. Drinking the wrong fluids
C. Lack of daily sunlight
D. Lack of daily activity
* Your blood test will point you in the right direction, you will be able to supplement some of your poor choices as well as supplement some of your bodies lack of supplying the needs of your body’s daily functions.

A. Be aware eating the wrong foods, but take the supplements to balance off the missing ones identified in your blood test.
B., C., and D. will identify the same as A. above if you look at it the same way.

* Common ones are almost always Magnesium, Vitamin C an D3. By taking this vitamins daily will eliminate Muscle spasms and Leg cramps, but it has to be at the right dosage.

Once you achieve success, your body will will change and so you will need to adjust your intake levels of vitamins and identify from your last blood test what is lacking.
Add what your body is lacking on a daily basis, and take some preventive supplements based on your Age and your bodies A.,B.,C., and D., above examples if they apply to you!

We are all different, but we can figure out how to help our bodies help us if we look at this honestly and in a preventive way. Prevention is the before approach, and it is to late once we are having poor health issues. Most of the Drugs and topical sprays and creams are temporary and mask or hide the problem and we don’t feel it, but our body do!

Thought I would share this long post, and I hope it helps !

I have exactly what you have. Waking up every 1.5 with horrible cramp. I did ultrasound of the extremities and found bad atherosclerosis, narrowing of my veins and bad blood flow
