Obstructive hydrocephalus that appeared to be Parkinson's

I had been having symptoms such as shuffling, falling for no apparent reason, balance issues and not being able to rise from a sitting position. It was thought that I had Parkinson’s based on my symptoms, but any tests done were not conclusive. I was finally diagnosed with obstructive hydrocephalus, had placement of a shunt and I am a new person. Not only have the physical symptoms disappeared, but my severe depression (seeking death) has also disappeared. I was told I had aqueductal stenosis/hydrocephalus back in 1987, but the symptoms became obvious in the last 7 years. Be your own advocate and keep going to doctors if Parkinson’s has been ruled out.
