I am 34 and is diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. How can I get a real solution to the disease?

Would this diet be effective on osteoarthritis as well? I wake up every day with knee and low back pain, plus have difficulty sleeping comfortably.

Any diet that decreases inflammation will help...take a look at the anti inflammatory diet by Dr Weil. It is hard to stay on as carbs are limited...I splurge for one day every week and hurt like crazy the next day.

The diet says it’s beneficial for :

• People with autoimmune conditions such as:
• Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Psoriasis
• Lupus
• Multiple sclerosis
• Inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis)

Doesn’t mention osteoarthritis per se.

Ask you doctor if you can do a trial of low dose naltrexone. Naltrexone is thought to minimize inflammation and modulate the immune system. I have about a 50% reduction in pain with a 3.5 mg dose per day. It is a prescription drug and must be created in a compounding pharmacy for this low of a dose. You start with a very low dose like .5 or 1.5 mg and work slowly to 4.5 mg. I dropped back down to 3.5 mg as that dose worked best for me.

It does have some side effects the first week or two. I was tired some days and had more energy on others to begin with. I had insomnia if I took it too late in the day. Now I just get more energy about two hours after I take it and it relieves the pain...nice to wake up and not have my knees throbbing. I also had vivid dreams (not nightmares) for about the first two weeks.
