in Oregon you have to treat rain like sunshine or you would be inside all the time. I would tell my diabetic patients that we have these amazine things called rubber boots, rain coats and pants and these things called umbrellas so no excuse for not walking, rain or shine. For lifestyle changes studies show that 97.5% of paints cannot make changes for more than 1 year, markedly less after one year. If one carves out 2-3 hours a day before attempting lifestyle changes to just have for there personal time to do anything then starts using this time for lifestyle changes (diet and exercise) then this doubles success for weight loss and exercise. I started a walking group after work and after word spread there were a goup of 15 that worked up to walking 4-5 miles daily. Cumulative average weight loss was 23 pounds. I was using GLP1 agonist, metformin and SGLT2 inhibitors and this group had similar weight loss. I started using these in 2013. Many other providers did not and would boast that " I never use new drugs in my practice until they have been on the market for 6 years. They are all eating humble pie now ha ha

Yes, love my lightweight umbrella! Those who are looking for others to walk-and-talk, look at ava.org - a link to America's Walking Club. Look at Meet-up in your area. You did a fine public service for your coworkers! A significant part of motivation is the expectation of your presence at walking time, people are more likely to continue when others depend on their presence. Win-Win for everyone! Keep up the good work!
