It's only Mayo AZ that doesn't take any Advantage Plans. Fla. and MN still accepts some but not all plans. Hope this helps.

I had heard same about Mayo Jacksonville and that it was Phoenix only.

I do know Mayo Jacksonville restricts accepting any Medicare Advange to only a couple. They also limit the amount of Medicare patients they accept also. Many of those who live in my 55+ community cannot get into Mayo.

I don't think all understand when you go to Medicare Advantage you are out of traditional Medicare and under the insurance company you have chose. Most of those are HMO types but they also restrict how much and what they will pay for. Thus Mayo reluctance to go outside of tranditional Medicare.

I do want to point out I really don't know how an institution like Mayo could survied with what Medicare pays. For istance and this is not exact number when I go into PACE clinic office I will usually have two tech working. Many times they have to contact a EP to confirm something. They will spend over an hour with me.

In the past when I had only one insurance and no medicare insurance would pay about 200.00 for a visit like this. Now Medicare will pay something like 79.00. Now May has parking, lot, lobby, elevators, receptionist, waiting rooms, equipment, and have two employees for 1 hour or more and only get 79.00 to pay for all that. It is not that I want to pay more but for centers like Mayo Clinics where even Medicare itself is a drain on them you can see where Medicare Advantage would propably pay even less.
