Ending Abiraterone + prednisone an Lupron Depot

My husband was prescribed 24 months of abiraterone + prednisone along with Lupron Depot everything 3 months. We are at 18 months. Has anyone taken these drugs for 24 months and did the doctor start weaning you off the drugs before you stopped?

You do need to be weaned off of prednisone. You do not need that with the other two drugs and can just stop them. If you don’t wean yourself off prednisone, you will find that you are extremely tired in the afternoons. Even though you are only on 5 mg of prednisone, your body‘s production of cortisol doesn’t always return right away, So you may need cortisol from prednisone for two or three months, while you slowly taper.

This issue has been discussed in online prostate cancer meetings I’ve been to, Many people mentioned having the fatigue problem, from dropping prednisone too quickly, myself included.
