Thanks all for your postings. I have heard the same negatives about surgery from 4 different eye docs. Guess I am stuck with using a patch over my glasses when i read. Things could be so much worse, but reading is my favorite thing to do, and it becomes very tiring.

I’m so sorry to hear that but try and remind yourself that, if the doctors are suggesting to forgo surgery, it means they worry the result would be even worse vision and an even harder time reading.

Have you looked for books with bigger print or tried audiobooks? Those could be good alternatives for you!
