reclast infusion
Had my first reclast infusion in in February. It is now May and since then I have had lower back pain. I haven’t been able to work out at the gym as far as doing leg exercises because it seems to make it worse. I don’t know if this is a side effect or if it’s just something else has anybody had this issue?

I had my second reclast infusion Feb 5 and within a few days, my right hand, wrist and forearm began to hurt. I have some arthritis in my right thumb joint at the base. The tendons feel like they are inflamed. Had X-rays at a walk-in clinic, they were normal. Said I had tendonitis possibly caused by the arthritis. Will see my GP tomorrow. Have had sporadic and intermittent bone/joint pain since taking reclast.
Reclast is a HORRIBLE treatment. I had 1 infusion and past out. Nomore for me. That’s poison.
I had a Reclast treatment about a month ago. I will not do anymore of those! I had a terrible reaction to it. I woke up shaking in the middle of the night, tried to get up to go get a thermometer and found that I had no control of my muscles or spine, and couldn’t walk. I ached for days and had no control of my hands the next day. I had to miss teaching yoga for a couple of days. Within a week I was mostly back to normal. It was terrifying. My doctor never offered a slow infusion or a saline flush—I don’t know what they do, but I assume from other comments that that is supposed to help with side effects? Worts thing was, I called the doctor the next morning after the infusion, and no one would talk to me, I had to call again at 4pm because they didn’t call me back all day. Such a scary reaction and no support!
Debi,
I just posted about my horrible reaction to Reclast. It’s decisively poison to me! Don’t know how I’ll follow this up, but won’t do that again.

It seems that Reclast really increases inflammation in the body. That’s my experience anyway.
Also a very bad reaction immediately after the infusion and for about a week.
I have new pain in my big toe, wrist and jaw since Reclast infusion. Thought maybe I was going a little crazy.
I practicly begged my Dr to give me a lower dose. He wouldn’t. I had no saline before or after. I passed out 12 hours later then had all the flu symptoms. So scary. Dr said no more. I don’t know what to do. There really isn’t anything else that I can take. I had Gastric Bypass years ago so not much out there for me to take.
My Drs nurse said That me passing out had nothing to do with the infusion.
Try Prolia, which is a shot you get every six months. I had that for about
ten years with no side effects. But the doc said she thought I needed to
take a break from it, a “drug holiday”! I hope I can go back to that,
although the copay is very high.
Good luck to you!
