My understanding is that the surgery has so many negatives that it is only worth doing once your visual acuity has declined past a certain threshold. In other words, until your vision is bad enough, the cost of doing the surgery isn’t worth the benefit it may provide.

I've heard the same thing, and also that the surgery could make your vision worse. I'm seeing the specialist next week and will see if he has anything different to say from last time, as the pucker has become worse. Thanks for your response.
