Is it a tightness like someone has put extremely tight compression socks on you where it feels crushing or a feeling of stiffness? Is it a feeling of cramping?
I wonder if your riding your bike helps increase circulation which relieves some of the tightness you experience by bringing oxygen and nutrients plus increasing blood pressure in the tissues which temporarily relieving the pain.
AI mentions the following about infections, amoxicillin and neuropathy:
“ Amoxicillin is a commonly prescribed antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. While it is generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience side effects. Nerve pain or damage is not a typical side effect of amoxicillin, but there are a few considerations to keep in mind:
Allergic Reactions: Some people may have allergic reactions to amoxicillin, which can manifest as skin rashes, itching, or swelling. In rare cases, severe allergic reactions can lead to anaphylaxis, which requires immediate medical attention.
Neuropathy: Although not common, there have been rare reports of peripheral neuropathy associated with the use of certain antibiotics, including amoxicillin. Symptoms may include tingling, numbness, or pain in the extremities.
Gastrointestinal Issues: Common side effects of amoxicillin include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. These gastrointestinal issues can sometimes lead to discomfort that may be perceived as nerve pain.
Drug Interactions: If amoxicillin is taken with other medications, there may be interactions that could potentially lead to nerve-related symptoms. Always inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking.
Underlying Conditions: If you have pre-existing conditions that affect the nerves, such as diabetes or autoimmune disorders, you may be more susceptible to nerve pain, which may not be directly related to amoxicillin.
If you are experiencing nerve pain or any unusual symptoms while taking amoxicillin, it is important to consult your healthcare provider. They can evaluate your symptoms, determine if they are related to the medication, and suggest appropriate alternatives or treatments.”
