@nancyraine, my wife got the call January 9th of this year, after a very short wait. So she didn't experience the difficult waiting period that you have. She has NET, and after chemo, surgery, PRRT, and Lanreotide/Octretide injections, our team recommended the liver transplant plan as our best course of extending her life as long as we can. After 2 different second opinions, she decided to take the plunge on getting a transplant. Keep in mind every transplant is different, some go smoothly, but ours has been anything but, but you have to keep in mind, it is a long recovery as I have learned from our doctors/team and research I have found. There is months 0-3 months, 4-6 months, and so forth. She only had NET's left in her liver, so we choosed to give her the longest possible life with the transplant. We will get through it, you will also. We got this and you will too!

It’s been nearly 18 years since my Liver Transplant at Mayo. I think some of us just have a much harder recovery than others.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to call your team and discuss everything with them - all the time every time you have a problem or question. I still call and txt my team as needed.

Not feeling well after transplant can be so many different things - medication side effects, depression is real and treatable, lack of sleep, your body is trying to repair itself, it takes awhile. Talk to your team. Go outside in the sun for a few minutes each day. It may take longer for you to get it together- believe that you will do it. And one day, it will be 18 years later.

How long after her surgery could she be left alone? I'm talking to my family and current relationship person and my family is scattered in different states and the relationship I'm in says he has to be ack at work in 4 weeks . So now I have that to worry about that I won't have anyone around during my recovery after ,4 weeks . I'm so scared and lost I don't know what to do. Thank you for replying to me.
