Has anyone ever been misdiagnosed with metastatic bone, kidney and lym

I was recently diagnosed with metastatic bone cancer from unknown source, then kidney cancer which was a small benign cyst and now lymp node cancer? Bone biopsy was negative and kidney. Please help

A CT scan with a contrast agent, I presume? Those are very hard to interpret. I just had one for routine monitoring of my stage-4 prostate cancer, and it's down to the skill of the radiologist to look at increased uptake in an area and conclude that it's likely due to something other than cancer (especially if there's corroboration elsewhere in my medical chart, like bloodwork that contradicts cancer in that location).

In your case, I'm guessing it was inconclusive enough that they wanted to do biopsies to be certain. Not that they were convinced you had cancer, but that increased uptake of the contrast agent in those areas meant that *something* was going on, and they wanted to rule out cancer.

I would definitely get a 2nd opinion before they do anything! Something doesn’t sound right.

A CT scan can't tell if a growth is cancer or not (although if there are multiple or irregular tumors, it's a good guess.) How do they know it's metastatic bone cancer? You mentioned the 12r lymph node was negative. Was 4r positive? Was the benign cyst the only lesion on your kidneys?

Benign cyst in kidney. 12r is suspected malignant now and no word on 4 r

What test(s) was the cancer diagnosis based on? What did the report say?

CT was the original diagnosis

The doctors said it was cancer but they can’t find the original source though I have had biopsies. The oncologist said it was cancer but she didn’t know what kind or where. Very frustrating. Is been 2 months. I am changing hospitals now.

I agree. There has been no actual diagnosis for where the original cancer is so I am going to a different hospital

Three different doctors said it was cancer metastasis to bone but they don’t know what cancer or where the origin is from. This is after two months

CT, two MRI, because they used the wrong slides for kidney, PET scan which lit up many areas, repeat MRI and kidney is good. Bronchoscope of 2 lymph nodes. One good and the other suspicious for malignancy.

12r is still pending. The bone biopsy was negative but the doctors still insist it is metastatic bone cancer from whatever part they biopsy whether negative or inconclusive

The thing is I am not in any pain and I am not sick. Thankfully to God 🙌. I have only lost around 10 lbs due to stress, lack of sleep, etc. The oncologist wanted to prescribe more pain medication but I haven’t needed it. I canceled my appointment with them and I am going to seek treatment elsewhere
