I take 3 mg lunesta most nights. It’s recommended that the pill be taken whole and not cut in half. It has never been explained clearly to me why it can’t be cut in half. It isn’t extended release. So can anyone explain to me the problem with cutting it in half.

@toren123 I cut mine in half.
If I take a whole tablet, I wake up after 3-4 hours, maybe 5. When I take half, I sleep 3-4 hours, then take the other half. This works very well for me and my Dr. said it was fine. As you said, it’s not time released. I have no next day grogginess and get 7-8 hours of good sleep in.
