Tinnitus- any suggestions?

Posted by susanfalcon52 @susanfalcon52, May 30, 2024

I have developed tinnitus recently. It seems that it may have started on a flight. As we were descending, I felt terrible ear pain. Then, gradually started noticing a white noise in ears.

Since it is inevitable, I have accepted tinnitus as my own personal noise!

On November 19,2024 a storm ripped through here and took out the power for 63 hours. On November 21 the generator was started. I forgot to wear ear plugs.Across the street a house had an even bigger generator with a decibel at least 90. I was only around it for a few minutes.Again I didn't wear ear protection. That was November 22.I suppose since the whole neighborhood had generators going I ignored it.I wish I could go back to November 20,but I can't.I saw an ENT and she said to take Claritin D. But I don't know. I've had high blood pressure for 40+years, I've had Pseudogout attacks since 2010, I took hundreds of NSAIDs over the course of 14 years and a couple of months. I haven't taken anything since the election. I probably took around 250-400 pills total in all that time. I also discovered that I have 7 fillings in 7 teeth that have mercury in them. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Your computer or smartphone is causing it.You can still use your computer if it is 20 feet away from you.Make the change! Good luck!

There is no cure for tinnitus currently, but researchers are working on this common disorder. Due to excess noise exposure, it is the most common disability among service members who return from combat zones.

I was hit with tinnitus this past October. Best practice step is steroids 1st. Then ENT. Determined hearing loss. Had MRI to check for possible tumor. Did some supplements. No positive results from any. Last resort hearing aids with tinnitus masking which has been remarkable. Fortunately I found a remarkable Audiologist. After 2 months my life is back to normal. Wearing hearing aids daily. Sound machine at night. It was well worth the cost of the hearing aids. Starkey mid-level cost range. I can adjust on the app as needed. I tried several from Amazon with poor results. Having the support of an audiologist is a must in my opinion.
