Contolling Hydroxyurea fatigue by time of day you take the medication

I have ET and take 500mg of Hydroxyurea daily. I am wondering if anyone takes the medication at night and find it helps with the fatigue you can experience daily?

I take HU daily 500mg every night before bed. I sleep okay, but often have some leg cramps. The worst fatigue doesn't hit me until around noon the next day. Afternoons are hardest. I have extreme exhaustion by late afternoon, alleviated by eating an early dinner. I'm also on Levothyroxine (complete thyroidectomy) that I take first thing in the morning. I think that's why my mornings are so manageable; then that dose wains by afternoon.
Yes, HU has caused much fatigue and some annoying hair thinning. I take Essential Amino Acids, Biotin and my daily vitamin in the mornings. I;m 73, ET diagnosis with Jak2 and other mutations lurking (TET2, ASXL1).
Any suggesions to avoid the extreme exhaustion are appreciated. I'm hoping for a reduced dose of HU, since it is doing the job of lowering my platelets (last check was 384).

I don’t have any suggestions for the fatigue, but I use magnesium for the leg cramps that HU causes me. I’ve found that plain liquid magnesium works best for me, rather than all the mixes with other stuff. The liquid magnesium I’m taking looks like it is no longer being manufactured (KAL Purely Magnesium) so I’m going to order some NOW brand Liquid Magnesium with Trace Minerals. Hopefully it will work as well for me as the KAL brand has. There are some studies that suggest HU depletes magnesium, thus the reason that I started supplementing. Don’t overdue it though, cuz I’ve heard too much magnesium can be detrimental. Hoping for some relief for you!
