Did Dr. Bruce Patterson’s program work for you?
Hello folks,
There are a lot of posts here from people who said they were undergoing Dr. Bruce Patterson’s program at the time they posted, but not many who say they actually finished it, whether or not it worked for them, and if it worked to improve symptoms, if the positive outcomes remained after the therapy and for how long.
If you have gone through the therapy, could you share your experience with us, regardless of whether it was positive or negative? Thank you for your help.

Dr. Patterson has a study ongoing with his approach, so I will eagerly await the results of that.
He's essentially using a statin and an anti-HIV drug (he made his name in HIV/AIDS research).
There is a myriad of studies ongoing...
(fingers tapping...)
The double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of Patterson's treatment is described here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20250212177719/en/HealthBio-Therapeutics-Begins-FDA-Approved-Fast-Track-Clinical-Trial-for-Treatment-of-Long-COVID-with-a-Patented-Combination-of-Maraviroc-and-Atorvastatin
clinicaltrials.gov lists this as "Not yet recruiting" and only lists a location in Tucson. But the description describes it as "a Multi-Center" trial, which implies there should be other locations. The link (from February 2025) says that the trial was scheduled to start in March and that patients can pre-enroll in the trial. There is a link to a registration form.
So if you're interested in this treatment, don't want to spend the money, and are willing to risk ending up in the placebo group, this could be an option (or they might have filled all their slots already.)
I tried to take Maravoric and Atorvastatin and couldn’t take either…
But I’m hypersensitive with MCAS so don’t tolerate many medications.
Wished it would have worked for me!
I'm currently in the process of completing lab work with Dr. Bruce Patterson, but I'm having difficulty finding a doctor who will prescribe his long COVID protocol. Does anyone know of a doctor, preferably one who offers telehealth services, who might be willing to work with me on this? I'm located in Central Florida."
Mayo's Long Covid Clinic in Rochester will prescribe both maraviroc and atorvastatin. I don't know about any other parts of the protocol. But if you want those, perhaps the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville might help?
I tried to schedule an appointment with the Mayo Long Clinic in Jacksonville, but they wouldn't accept me. They said they require proof of a COVID-19 infection, which I don't have since I was never medically diagnosed with it. I self-tested at home.
I got into the Rochester Long Covid Clinic, though they say the same thing. I just gave them the date I had a positive home test. They didn't ask for proof . . .
@jviper36 I live near Charleston, SC and fortunately have my GP in full support. Dr Patterson’s team and I provided the information he needed so that he could write prescriptions and lab orders. Likely you’ve tried that, and that’s a basic requirement of Patterson’s program, a local Doc to work with.
I had the same experience, but they still would not accept me because my initial Covid case was more than 2 years ago. They initial Covid case date you list must be less than 2 years ago to be considered.
To clarify, to be considered by Mayo's Long Covid Clinic, the initial Covid case date must be less than 2 years.
