Recent studies/info on immunotherapy w RSO/Full Extract Cannabis Oil
Hi All,
I’m new to this site. You have been highly recommended and I’m writing to the community for help.
I have lung cancer/cancer of unknown primary. The doctors are unsure which. The cancer has metastasised and is present only in the liver. I have been on chemo for a while and on RSO(Rick Simpson Oil)/ Full Extract Cannabis Oil for 1 month. My oncologist has now moved me onto immunotherapy. I stopped taking my RSO as I read a small sample study that indicated cannabis oil and immunotherapy may interact and prevent each other from working. I have since spoken to a cancer nurse, a doctor at a renowned cancer hospital, and a pharmacist drug interaction line about this. They have told me there should be no interactions between my immunotherapy drug (Nivolumab) and cannabis oil, however none of them knew about RSO/ Full Extract Cannabis Oil specifically. They questioned whether it contained both THC and CBD which I confirmed.
· I wondered if anyone on this forum could recommend any recent studies on this?
· Has experience of this themselves – using these together?
· Knows anything about RSO/Full Extract Cannabis Oil and immunotherapy?
Any help, information or suggestions anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

My brother had a malignant metastatic skin cancer almost four years ago. He was very fortunate that immunotherapy was just entering the market. He also used RSO in combination with his chemo and radiation. He swears by both and I am very happy to say he is still here with clean scans 4 years later. Originally he was told it was terminal and he had only 6 months left.
Welcome to connect, I just read your post and wanted to share what I learned, I too am a lung cancer survivor but I was treated with surgery and nothing else. I’ve always been a researcher, even in my professional life and I also have a medication phobia so I wanted to make sure that I never make any mistakes that could cause problems. I have read that cannabis can interfere with certain chemotherapy but the information is sketchy due to the fact that there hasn’t been a lot of research done, this is due to the fact that it’s still relatively new, it will take time for them to get all the information. I know that Rick Simpson claimed that his product cured his cancer, he had skin cancer on his arm and he applied it directly to the cancer and it disappeared, to date there’s no further evidence that it can do this. I always told my doctors that I take cannabis to be safe but most of them had no idea what it could do so I had to use my own judgment. It’s good that you are trying to make sure that you don’t cause any problems and it’s basically a personal choice, I think if I was in your position I would either take a break while getting treatment to be safe, best wishes to you and safe recovery.
May I ask if you had any improvements with the oil and has that been the only treatment to date ? Your lungs are clear? My husband had a procedure where they placed Y90( a time released radiation basically) directly into his liver and had great results
Good luck Cat
Just completed Y90, hoping for good results!
I am only one third of the way through the RSO course. I am a personal friend of somebody that it has helped cure, but with Chemo not immunotherapy. No improvements for me yet.
Good luck.
Thanks for your reply and kind words
Its lovely to read of your brothers great story and results. Thanks for sharing, so uplifting. Do you know if he had any Immunotherapy ands if he used his RSO with it
My Son had Radiation and Chemo for Stage 3 Thyroid Cancer 6 years ago and hasn't been able to eat solid food since, only Boost and Instant breakfast but recently he has lost ground fast and refuses to get medical advice and is losing ground rapidly. I have tried to get him to try CBD oil. A local man had the same type cancer 7 years ago and was treated at MD Anderson in Houston and then went on a protocol of CBD and other supplements and is seemingly healed and is thriving. He offered the protocol to me for my Son but he has just given up and doesn't think anything will help. He is 60 years of age and we can't make him get help so Prayers are appreciated and also any advice.
I don't know anything about thyroid cancer but I have a few suggestions for nutrition. Boost and Instant Breakfast have a lot of sugar and other ingredients that may be affecting your son's recovery and well-being. If the issue is the inability to eat solid foods, smoothies are a more healthful option, as are homemade soups (without cream). Of course the protocol suggested by the other guy who took his doctor's advice should be followed if your son wants to survive. So one has to ask why he has given up. This calls for a mental-health check-in with a specialist.
Hope this helps
