I hope it is appropriate for me to join this conversation, as my mom recently had a stroke, and had emergency surgery today to remove blockage in her basilar artery feeding her brain. She made it through, thank God, but at the same time I feel lost and have a myriad of emotions running through me. She is still not out of danger but the odds against her have been lowered. Reading your post about your symptoms and achievements have given me hope. I thank the Mayo Clinic for this support group and I thank you for your post.
