@sharon31 i am 63 and was diagnosed last month with osteoporosis. Thank you for sharing your story and T- scores. You give me hope because my t scores are close to yours and DO Not want to take alendronate. I am doing research and have found Dr McCormick’s book Great Bones very helpful, also Your Bones by Lara Pizzorno. I have also started to do exercises from Sara Meeks and Margaret Martin. Good luck to you; please keep us updated

Hi shelldct1,

Thank you for your comment. I just logged in ok after unsubscribing a while back, I was getting depressed by the site, and the comments directed to someone asking for advice avoiding prescription drugs were the last straw.
I nevertheless acknowledge that it is not clear what pathway to take, and serious health conditions such as cancer are overwhelming even without having to worry about bone loss and fractures.
So far I am free of serious fractures and am so grateful, I hope my health and any gains I can make continue.
I am continuing to develop my exercise programme, and take things gently when I start a new exercise, while continuing to challenge myself steadily, occasionally increasing weights or varying exercises.
Also nutrition so important, supposedly this accounts for 80% of the work we need to do. A range of protein and vegetable sources, bone based broth, keffir etc are my focus.
From reading it is possible to find evidence of good and bad results from similar actions, I find peace of mind doing what I do, and hope to continue, I hope nothing scary interrupts my pathway.
I send my best wishes to everyone, I know some people are dealing with serious pain and restrictions. I wish it were possible to turn back the clock sometimes and avoid serious issues, certainly true in my life.
