I am about to start chemo for colorectal cancer reoccurance. I would like info on Folfox+avastin mix chemo experience. I am getting port and will get infusion every two weeks. I was told survival is about 2 years.

Is the cancer stage 1?
If so, I am surprised by the survival prediction?
Can you help me understand?

I haven’t been told what stage it is but I starts with rare aggressive appendix cancer. It had perforation on end. They removed whole thing then a month later I had right hema colectomy done with 20 lymph nodes removed tested. All was negative for cancer. I thought I was done. That was 8 mos ago. Grade 2 t4 because of risk with perforation. Feb ct scan and blood work all normal. May 28 CEA was 18.2. Ct scan showed extensive metastasizing soft tissue nodules around uterus and ovaries area. Drs plan for me is to start Folfox avastin chemo combination every 2 weeks with port. I am 74 and very active. I was told generally 2 yrs is survival rate. This is all still really new stuff for me. Everything I read is scary.
