Is this Herpes or STI
Worried about HSV genital infection. Had 30 sec, of oral performed on me. Two weeks later got two basically flat PAINLESS red lesions on upper shaft of penis 3/4 inch apart. No fluid and one had a slight shallow indentation to it and look shiny. One stayed red 2,5 days from the time I saw it the other 3.5 days. Could feel slight thickness under them. What could they be?

Are you experiencing any other symptoms? Any pain during urination?
I have no pain at all, never did and all symptoms are gone. The lesions I had don't seem to fit herpes but I am healthy and never had anything like that. I am fearful of passing anything onto my Grand Kids.
Thanks for your reply,
Happy New year!!
I have written down everything associated with my event. Sorry if I am taking to much space. I am simply looking to speak with knowledgeable folks.
Dr,
Oct /29/ 16 I had 20 seconds of receptive oral sex, two weeks latter two basically flat lesions on upper shaft of penis spaced ¾ inch apart and ½ inch down from top of shaft both had an individual red base. One had a shallow dimple in it and a shiny look to it with a pin size spot in the middle of the indentation. The other smaller one was NOT shiny and faded in 2.5 days the larger one took about 3.5 days but both had evidence of where they were on the penis for a couple more days. I really have NO idea how long they were there for their location was obscured by stomach, undershirt etc. I do know I had zero discomfort and at least one of the lesions was right at the spot where I hold my penis when urinating.
I tested at six weeks at Dept. of Health for all STI, neg but have not tested for HSV was told to early and test unreliable. I tested NEG for HSV 1&2 last year though.
Reading the net of course I came across a site that said if the lesion did not scab after it broke it would have a shallow indentation while healing. I find it hard to believe for days urinating and the location of these lesions that I would have not felt something or discomfort. The lesions also felt as if they had a thickness under the skin maybe as a pimple would feel, but again, no fluid, no skin breakage no pimple and no pain.
The two-other things that have happened is the penis gland became tender on top about two weeks after the lesion went., no sign of vesicles and this continues off and on now for over a month with no discomfort while urinating. The other discomfort is just one day of leg pain well after all this has gone maybe I am reading too much.
The main reason for my panic however is my Grand Kids. They are just one and two and a half and even though I am a guy, I cry thinking I might pass something on to them.
Thank you,
Happy new year!!
Hi @hitofly,
I appreciate your honesty and openness, and am glad that you've recognized the need to sort things out. Unfortunately, we cannot diagnose conditions, provide second opinions or make specific treatment recommendations through this correspondence. That being said, there are many conditions that might result in the symptoms you are experiencing, and that can be transmitted through sexual contact.
The best thing to do would be to visit a health care provider who can see your condition and provide you with a solid diagnosis.
Please feel free to come back and talk with others; also, if you would like to post your message in the Men's Health group, here's the link: http://mayocl.in/2iZqTlw ; or just continue to post here.
@hitofly, may I ask if you've been tested for HPV?
I understand, thank you. My main worry was Herpes but the lesions don't seem to fit that. I have been advised to not take a blood test for hSV for as your site also says they are unreliable. If anything reoccurs I guess I will have to face that at the time.
Your post said MANY things could cause symptoms such as mine is there any that jumps out?
Thanks
Hi @hitofly,
While researching the internet for more information, I came across the fact that there could be a number of conditions, viruses, and bacteria that can be transmitted through sexual contact, and could cause small lesions: genital Herpes, ringworm infection, Molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV, sometimes called water warts), primary phase syphilis, genital warts, (caused by the human papilloma virus, HPV).
@hitofly, if it is of any comfort these are not hereditary conditions. Could you possibly get seen by your doctor to rule out any of the above?
