Replies to "I can tell you from my experience that Amlodipine can cause swelling in your ankles, feet,..."
Thank you! You've given me an argument, or conversation to have with my doctor, lol!
Appreciated your comment here about Amlodipine and the ankle, feet swelling. I have very recently started with slight swelling in just lowering the dose amount slightly. Would seem like it should be the opposite (higher dose, more swelling?). Also a new to me cardiologist asking why I was on it at all. We can see over time that each MD has their own experiences with varied Rx and their patients' varied symptoms. Such complex challenges.
Everyone is indeed different, however there are typical similarities among the majority of experiences with medications and medication interactions. I don't recall having had stomach cramps and diarrhea on amlodipine, but the ankle and sometimes leg and foot swelling were a problem. Also I began noticing discoloration in my ankles and calves. The less medications the better, but often one does not have a choice. I've also found that doctors are like everyone else, perhaps more educated and experienced, but with different opinions and recommendations for medications. I listen to them and generally follow their recommendations, but always verify. You're always your own best advocate.
May I ask you If your Amlodipine cause you to have stomach cramps and diarrhea? Been on it for 2 years and have had these symptoms every day. About 4 times a day or more? Thank you
