Wow, I am jealous. 8-9 months between phlebotomies, that’s great! Mine are every 6-12 weeks. But I am lucky that I don’t really have any symptoms of PV. I was diagnosed at age 57 and started low dose Hydroxyurea at age 60. I am on aspirin also. I just wish there was something to do with the low iron.

My doctor at Mayo increased my HU dosage from 500mg to 1000mg on my first visit and added folic acid Rx. After about a year the PA suggested I discontinue the Folic Acid because iron level was steady and OK. I told her I would rather stay on it since I was doing well and didn’t want to change what was working.
Maybe try Folic Acid?
