Liver disease itching: What helps?

Does anyone have info or treatments for itching? My scalp and lower back have a very itchy rash. Tried ointment shampoo, antihistamine and steroids...wont go away. I am Stage 4 liver cirrhosis. Dermatologist and PVP are stumped.

What is your liver-related diagnosis? How did itching arise with your condition?

Just a thought: Try to make your shower water as cold as you can tolerate without torturing yourself. The scalp and back receive the bulk of the water, and hot water could potentially be inflaming the skin.

Maybe mix Epsom w/ warm water in a fine-spray bottle & spray areas and then let air dry? I was also thinking I might try using a body oil? Both are worth a try.

I used Aveeno oatmeal bath. I found it helped. Also used Eucarine eczema cream

Before my transplant, I've used Aveeno Oatmeal Bath and also Sarna anti-itch lotion.

There is a medicine your doctor can prescribe. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name. It’s a powder that you mix with a liquid. Worked great for me.
