Does anyone have benign paroxysmal positional vertigo?

Posted by cynthia69 @cynthia69, Mar 30, 2024

Ever since covid I have had benign paroxysmal positional vertigo off and on. This morning I had the worst spinning I have ever had. Do you think the shaking caused by the vest could cause ear crystal to be dislodged? I have been using the vest with no problems for 2 months.
Thank you for any comments. Cynthia 69

Interesting, Kathy, yet another reason why I don't think a vest is right for me, in addition to arthritis in my spine, an overraction to pain stimulus and essential tremor. My pulmonologist says only about 1/3 of her patients are successful with the vest.

Yes, my NJH doctor also confirmed intolerance isn't uncommon. I have been looking for an Acupuncturist for my immune system and plan on talking to them about cupping. Funny, I got the idea last night after watching a 2023 Bronchiectasis conference video on airway clearance, that I think you posted. The video mentioned suction cups and Acupuncturists use suction cups (placed strategically) for many of their treatments. May be able to help with clearance.

I have heard that about cupping too. It wasn't a solution for my asthma, but helpful for one of my kids.
With fibromyalgia, I didn't tolerate percussion therapy for airway clearance either. Everyone is different.

Isn't that the truth. Acupuncture helped me with fatigue 20 years ago when I had an atypical pneumonia.

Acupuncture has helped me with many issues over the years - vertigo (BPPV), motion sickness, chronic pain and more. Unfortunately, my two most-trusted sources are no longer available, and I haven't yet found another.

I understand. My trusted acupuncturist for years was in Denver and was amazing. I'm now in Scottsdale and looking for an acupuncturist. I did talk to 3 clinics, and it may be trial and error.

Hi I’m glad you mentioned having BPPV since having Covid. I had BPPV twice after my two last covid vaccines. Each lasted 6 weeks and nothing helped, not the exercises given in hospital they just made it worse. I also remember waking during one of these episodes with pins and needles in my face and mouth felt like I’d had a stroke. An MRI later picked up a mark on my brain that suggested an old stroke. I always wondered if it was caused by the vaccine? I am reluctant to get another booster but also worry about Covid itself without vaccine! What to do??
