Hi @nande. I jumped the gun with my comment and for that I apologize. I was concerned this was in reference to another reply where taking a prescribed medication for a blood condition was being discouraged and instructing to use a natural remedy instead. I didn’t realize that you were already following your doctor’s advice and taking the Hydroxyurea.

I agree, these meds are a godsend and I’ve been on chemo myself. Wouldn’t be here without it. 😁 It’s still a good precaution to check with your doctor before taking certain supplements, even something as common as curcumin/turmeric, ginger, ginkgo, pomegranate juice, etc.. Some can act as blood thinners, or potentially interfere with medications causing them to metabolize slower or faster, some can cause toxicity in the liver or kidneys, that type of thing.

I was cautioned to avoid supplements but just to eat healthy foods, rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.

When you had your consult after the biopsy, was there a mutation listed with your diagnosis such as JAK2 or CALR?
