First of all, I would like to say thank you to the warm welcome I have received coming to this group, I started my journey with leukemia with another group that I have been with three years now, and I will always call them my home group, but as the saying goes, you can never have enough friends. So, I now have a second home here, thank you for that.
Now as for my visit with my oncologist this afternoon, the first thing he said to me was that I need to stop reading the reports because that only causes confusion and stress. He then said that though the pathologist saw that "some of the lymphocytes have prolymphocytic appearance..." my oncologist stated that my numbers do NOT indicate any sort of change, or mutation, and he went as far to state that he himself, and he is in his 60's, has never seen a case of PLL. SO, he wants me to stop reading my test results, remain on my 3-month cycle of "Watch & Wait" protocol, and trust that I will more than likely live into my 80's as long as something outside of my CLL does not interfere.
I do want to say that I consider myself to have a pretty strong faith, but this cancer sure sucks when it comes to messing with my mind.
I pray that everyone here continues to be blessed and that in the end we can all say that we "...ran the good race."
