Be careful using Acetaminophen or ibuprofen, it wreaks havoc on the GI and kidneys.

Does anyone have experience with a (Curonix) Peripheral Nerve Stimulator?

S1 nerves affect the hips & groin, S2 nerves affect back of thighs, S3 nerves affect medial buttock area. S4 & S5 nerves affect perineal

Sept, 2020 - S1, S2, S3 discs right side nerve root block injections - S2 80% relief back of the thighs, S3 90% relief of right buttock

Dec, 2020 - right piriformis muscle epidural injection provided 75% relief of nerve pain & numbness in my right foot for 12 days

Jan. 2025 - I received a right Sacroilliac Joint that has failed to relieve my pre surgery chronic right Sacroilliac Joint nerve pain

I am being offered a trial (Curonix) Peripheral Nerve Stimulator from a Pain Management Anesthesiologist.

I like the battery isn't implanted being that I have unexplained weight loss and I am very thin with a low BMI.

- July 2018 - I received a BurstDR stimulation from St. Judes Medical Trial Stimulator Implant for chronic lumbar and radculopathy nerve pain into my legs and feet with numbness. The trial stimulator was ineffective and I didn't accept a permanent Stimulator Implant.

I just completed the trial for the Nalu Peripheral Nerve Stimulator for the excrutiating pain in my
right SI joint and lumbar area and down upper legs. It reducced my pain by more than 50%. I am waiting for the permanent implant now and very much looking forward to the relief I experienced.

I wore the trial for 8 days, usually it's only a couple of days. I am so glad I had the extra time because the first 3 day of the trial were beginning to make me feel like the device was not going to work for me,at one point my pain was even worse and we had to turn the device off overnight to let my back settle down. When we turned it back on and readjusted the releif was awsome. All the numbers, schedules, etc. on the device can be confusing but to give you and idea; the rep had the device set on 35/35 , we finally learned that a setting of 7 is what works for me to reduce the most pain. If I had not stuck through the experimental adjusting, initially I would have declined to have the implant. Glad I didn't.

Also, have youo discussed Ablations? I've had 2 ablations, one in neck and one for left lumbar, both reduced my pain alot...maybe over 80%. The ablations work but the neves growback within a year, then you have another.

@lucasmom I wonder if this is like the Sprint PNS that I am having installed? This will be for 60 days where it is attached to nerve in back. I am nervous about the constant setting and adjusting.

Don't be nervous, this will help your pain 🙂 The settings/adjusting are only at the beginning to find your own required settings. It's very much worth the relief you'll get.

I came across your post via a Google search and I’m wondering if you still like your Nalu for ON?

Have you had your programming updated at all? Any lead migration? I just had my permanent one installed and I’ve not found anyone else using it for this use case and would love to chat more

I never got the NALU and I am so glad! My Dr. decided an SI joint fusion was a better idea and I am currently about 10 weeks post procedure and it's a life changer. I wish I could have had this done 3 years ago. This procedure has reduced the pain from my SI joint area at least 50%...some days are better....and I say this
conservatively .

I ended up having an SI joint fusion. A simple out patient procedure and it's been wonderful! Much better than NALU or any and permanent!
I've been suffering with high pain level in entire spine but at a pain level 8-9 for over 3 years. Much of my time has been spent suffering at home on the couch, in bed, on floor. It is now about 10 weeks post procedure and at level 5-6 ish. I've been able to do some things I haven't done in years.

@curiouspanther My program was revised and it helps even more. There’s still plenty of pain, but the Nalu distracts and soothes.
