Have you experienced itching after eating bison?
Both my husband and I experienced itching after eating bison. We do not have the same reaction to other red meats, including venison and moose. Have you had that experience? Any idea what causes it?

@seapen There might be a nutritional component in the bison meat that is not present in other red meats. Have you looked into that idea? And curiosity on my part leads me to ask, is the bison you are consuming wild range bison, or farm raised? Their diet may contribute to a component that reacts with you.
Here is what WebMD has to say about bison meat: https://www.webmd.com/diet/health-benefits-of-bison-meat
And an interesting article from Check my health in the UK!: https://uk.checkmybodyhealth.com/blogs/intolerances-allergies/buffalo-allergy-signs-symptoms-and-alternatives?srsltid=AfmBOoqMM4UdfETA2PWvGQiyNvky5Xhe9U7_EuWGy5e16qKc57NPzXvy
Apparently a bison allergy is a real condition experienced by some people.

Thank you for all this information. I dont know how the bison was raised, but it was purchased at Walmart in Maine, USA.
is this something new....have you eaten bison before with no reaction or is this a first?
I have eaten bison twice and both times I have woken up itching several hours later. It was a first for my husband.
Probably a good idea not to eat it anymore. Your body is telling you something!
