Immediately call the financial aid office at Mayo and ask for a Charity Care Application. All hospitals that get federal tax breaks and federal money HAVE TO PROVIDE IT TO THE POPULATION THEY SERVE!

They don't brag about it but they do. Also, you can call any good hospital around your area and do the same with them. Do it now. Time is essential and feeling good is your main goal.

I have it at Duke and UNC Medical centers and it's a godsend. Labs are $20. Hospital stay is a flat $100 for the length of my stay. Regular Dr. visits are $10, ER visits are 50 bucks!
