I was in PT two months ago and did the exercises they taught me to do and realized that if I raise my eyes watching higher than straight the dizziness starts again after a few minutes. My TV is very high on the wall and that is a stimulant. So I learned that I have to test myself about the movements or situations that agravate my symptoms and of course avoid them. I now watch TV on a high chair and left my cane in the closet, in case!
I lost my hearing in my right ear during the middle of a phone call on 2023.07.25 at 07:28 PM. I had had my hearing tested at Hearing Life in Hampton, VA before loosing my hearing on 2022.09.21 and it was adequate for someone of my age group. I also have a very loud high pitched noise and have since I had a memory, that has been identified as Tinnitus. After loosing my hearing it has gotten ten times louder to the point that it is driving me mad and sometimes I want to scream. After loosing my hearing I went to Dr. Geoffrey Beacon in Hampton, Virginia and he tested my hearing and ran various tests. He said everything is connected but could not determine as to why my hearing was not working. He then referred me to an ear specialist but I cannot remember his name who did the same test. Both Dr. Geoffrey and his specialist both were in the process of retiring and have since done so. From the research I have performed online about Tinnitus and hearing loss, both are a result of the same problem that consist of hair like structures called stereocilia in the cochlea become damaged. This is a result from loud noise, medication or virus etc. thus causing loss of hearing and making Tinnitus even worse as in my case. I would like to know if there are any Otolaryngologist who are more progressive other than checking out my hearing range in a sound booth and the usually routine tests and if I qualify for any of the studies that are currently being performed?

So sorry about your issues. Do you have vertigo on occasion and balance issues? You may need to find an oto-neurologist like I did. He is head of hearing and balance disorders at UC Irvine Medical center. The universities seem to have more knowledge in regards to the inner ear. A good site for information is "Dr. TC Hain" who is at the University of Chicago.. You may have BPPV, which is from the dropping of the cilia and maybe you need to have the Epley maneuver. Or, you may have what I was diagnosed with, Vestibular Migraine (no headache just other symptoms that are triggered by laying flat, allergies, motion, caffeine, etc) My symptoms (vertigo, tinnitus, ear pressure) are controlled with a rotation/elimination diet and 5 mgs. of Paxil at night. Or 10mgs. if I am having a bad time. I have lost all hearing in my right ear over the 17 years since diagnosed. My hearing in left ear is great.

From my research, a sign of deafness is the possibility that the Minere's virus has destroyed one's hearing. I am not an expert but that is one of the causes of deafness.
