Any updated information on OsteoStrong results?

Posted by debbik @debbik, Nov 15, 2024

I see a post on OsteoStrong but the info is from 2019-2020. Is there any new evidence out there, or anyone that has had positive results from this? The closest OsteoStrong class to me is about two hours away, but I'm thinking if it truly is effective, it is worth the drive.

Melioguide with Margaret Martin is an online osteoporosis program as is Kaari’s Strength Training and Yoga for Osteoporosis program. It is also listed on the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation's Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month page.
The BHOF's mission is to provide both medical practitioners and patients alike with unbiased, research-backed information about bone health and osteoporosis management. Both the BHOF and the International Osteoporosis Foundation recommend strength training as a safe and effective intervention for osteoporosis. This program is available online, shows you how to use body weight(push ups with arms on counter). You can google these research based programs.

Has anyone tried OsteoStrong? I'm very curious if this program works. I have osteoporosis. Medication is not for me for a variety of reasons. I practice Yoga around three times a week, hike weekly, walk daily, also do body sculpting with light weights. I take Bone Support liquid by Blue Bonnet daily. That's enough about me lol! I'd love to hear people's experiences with OsteoStrong. Thank you.

I have been going to Osteostrong for 3months, I am very fortunate to have a location 10 minutes from my house! I don t have any results in numbers to report yet, but I feel stronger with better balance and it’s doing a lot for me mentally, to help me take charge of this condition. I have had 4 vertebral compression fractures and am on Tymlos so I started out very gingerly but my confidence builds each week along with my increased strength. The people that work there are very professional and each have their own story related to osteoporosis and I’ve talked to many of the clients who have been doing it for a long time, all positive. That’s my take for what it’s worth. I am a 67yo female.

That is my plan to not continue Osteostrong, and focus on weight training. I just got a 10 lb. Weighted vest for walking dogs every day.

I have been going to osteostrong for a bit more than a year. I am on the fence as well, not sure it's worth it? For me it's 8 mile drive, would never do 2hrs. Also this particular franchise (there is one 1 mile from me not covered) is covered under my united healthcare renew program. My DEXA did stabilize for the first time but no idea if osteostrong helped this. I have also been doing my own strength training. I probably will stop going in the near future.

I also did Osteostrong for a year with no change in my Dexa score. I also took algae cal & strontium which they recommend. When I told them my score they said congratulations that it didnt go down-thats not enough for the $1000 plus they charge IMO.

Agree! I have given my 30 day notice so will go 4 more times.
Went for a 45 minute walk with my new 10 lb weight vest. I think I can maintain bone density on my own.
