Looking For A Hotel Suggestion: Mayo Rochester, MN
I have an appointment scheduled for mid December at the Rochester Clinic and I’m looking for just the right hotel. My wants and needs:
1) Covered parking and it needs to be readily accessible - I do not travel light😉;
2) I’m a walker so I don’t need to be right across the street and I’m a Minnesota gal so I can handle the weather, but I do want to be able to walk to my appointments;
3) I’m a germaphobe. I travel with my own bedding, hence the need to be able to get things from my car. I know. I’m weird. We own two small inns in Florida so let’s just say I’m very well aware of hospitality standards. No matter where I stay, any time I travel, I always leave the room much cleaner than when I checked in.
It’s a short list, but weirdly specific. I’d like a fridge in the room, but I do not need a kitchenette. I don’t eat breakfast so that’s not a concern either.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We will be there soon at Rochester Mn. and I have no clue which hotel is reasonable and especially close to the hospital. TIA
Mayo Concierge is a wonderful thing. They work with Patriot, who can help you with travel, ground transportation and a place to stay. I've been doctoring thru Mayo since last summer and have taken several trips back to Rochester. Call Patriot Services: 866-551-3392. And if you are flying, but haven't made flight reservations yet, do that thru them as well. They can get you nonrefundable tickets which WILL be refundable toward a changed ticket, for a fee of $25/ticket. My husband & I made a $980 mistake our first trip back when we ended up needing to stay a day longer.
Best of wishes in your journey. Mayo is the best place; I see it as, "I'm going to a superb place; it's gonna turn out as good as it can, and so far, it has. EVERYONE who works there is a SAINT.

Mayo in Rochester has St Mary's hospital and Methodist hospital. Methodist is downtown connected to the downtown Mayo campus.
What hospital are you asking about?
I have often stayed at the econo lodge. Found it reasonable with friendly staff. Nothing fancy but clean decent hotel. Thry have a free daily shuttle that runs to hotel. Every 30 minutes I think and starts early morning. I have used them often if I've had procedures and not suppose to drive after. I just take shuttle. It saves parking cost too.
@dpodell5864, you will appreciate the helpful suggestions in this related discussion to which I moved your question about looking for a hotel.

They can help with things like getting you set up with the patient portal called Patient Online Services, narrow your hotel options based on your budget and individual needs, recommend restaurants personalized to your preferences or diet and help with directions to and around Mayo Clinic, including shuttle bus schedules, etc.
@gangcarotid1 also mentions Mayo Clinic's service to help with airline bookings and related travel arrangement. It is called Mayo Clinic Patient Travel Services. Patient Travel Service can make flight reservations ($25 fee per reservation, up to $50 for a family), manage changes to your travel itinerary, make hotel reservations, and arrange ground transportation, including airport shuttles, limo service or car rental reservations.
