I live in the middle of NC. Since I'm from the Midwest, I'd probably prefer Cleveland Clinic or Mayo, but getting there would be an ordeal any way you slice it.
Hi Pamela, We have some similarities as I am 80 with an ascending thoracic aneurysm at 4.2, plus some minor leaky valves and blockages, all discovered because of tests for other things. I live in Atlanta and have some great doctors here who work with Emory St Joseph’s Hospital. There are several who specialize in thoracic aneurysms and are on Castle Connelly best doctors list. You might want to check them out if not too far. My cardiologist is monitoring the size for me. I am hoping to do a consult soon with one of the thoracic cardiac doctors who specialize in thoracic aneurysms. Fingers crossed. Best to you!
How far away are you? If you can't fly, you are basically talking about driving or maybe if you are lucky going by train. It is 180 miles one way for me to go to Mayo. I realize that isn't far compared to some people's situation.
