Can weight gain cause progression from MGUS to myeloma?
I have been diagnosed with MGUS. I have read that weight gain can cause progression from MGUS to MM. I’ve gained quite a bit I think due to the anti depressants and food cravings. I’m so upset with myself. Please tell me about any experience or information you have about this. I’m would greatly appreciate it. I have my six month blood check in a few weeks and am very concerned. Thank you, Amy

The plant based diet with added tumeric and omega 3 lowered my IgG kappa 0.2
Be carful Tumeric can stop absorption of iron severely. It was a great anti inflammatory substitute instead of IB but I need iron lol
Sorry, but you don't know that. You know that, after following the "plant based diet" for an unspecified period of time, your IgG k went down. Things like IgG k fluctuate normally. You can't assume a causal relationship.
In other words, post hoc ergo propter hoc is a logical fallacy. The jury is still out on the effectiveness of turmeric and a vegetarian diet.
I lost 26lbs since August and my numbers still went up. Just had a BMB and see them hemanoc in a couple weeks.
Most people with MGUS also have a form of anemia. I am IDA
Yes. I have chronic anemia.
