I had my prostate removed 30 years ago. I went through a couple pads, a day and more when I had a few drinks. Then, I didn’t like the options they had including the AUS because my sexual function was working good and I didn’t want to mess it up. In 2023 my sexual function was diminishing and my pad uses was five a day and a lot more when I had a few drinks. I didn’t like the AUS because you had to push a button and the extensive surgery involved and it will fail overtime from the research I read. I didn’t like the sling because if it did fail, it took a lot of surgery to remove it. I tried various clamps over the years, but they sucked. I really had to clamp them down to get it to work. I liked ProACT because it was the least invasive and could be removed in the office if there was an issue. It took my doctor only 20 minutes to install the balloons in outpatient. I’ve been pad free and it’s like normal. There is another link on this website where I explained everything about my surgery and history. Just type in the search box ProACT on this website and you’ll find it. Good luck whatever you choose.

I have another issue with the AUS. Yeah, at 65 years old I can operate. Who's going to know when to push the button when I'm 85/90 and, babbling incoherently and, pointing at my groin ?
