Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain?
Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain? I've had 2 doctors push this on me. I know that the side effects can be terrible and getting off of it difficult as it requires titration. One time I remember taking one pill, and not liking the way it made me feel, so not taking any more, and still feeling the "weirdness" from it 2-3 days later. and that was only 30 mg Please pass along any experience or advice from this medication?

I have used Cymbalta 60 mg twice a day and gabapentin 800 mg 3 times per day for some time. They do help a lot
I was given duloxadene for arthritis but after a month I developed uncontrollable vertigo and had to slowly withdraw from the drug. I believe it is a harmful drug that alters the brain's ability to recognize pain but alters the brain's ability to control emotions or recognize reality
I tried cymbalta and could not take it . Too many side effects, the last being loss of vision.
Many drugs have the side effect of destroying a men's libidos. My husband has been on Neurontin and Cymbalta for foot Neuropathy for over 20 years now and sex went out the door along with the start of the meds. He tried other "helps" from shots to pumps, but nothing worked. He can't even get a partial hard-on.
I was prescribed Duloxetine for Shingles pain but it was not worth the price of my titrating off it. Did you get brain zaps when you first went off it? I only took it for a couple of weeks but had to taper off it for over a month the brain zaps were so unpleasant! Some people take up to a year to get off it. Other drugs like SSRIs and Lyrica can also cause impotency in men and are equally difficult to get off.
I tried Cymbalta several decades ago for depression. I had to discontinue it due to severe irritation in my stomach. It felt like it was on fire. I commented because Cymbalta seems to work for some but not me. Good luck and happy living
I had been taking it for a couple of years, but diarhea, terrible stomach cramps each time I take it had gotten so bad. Between that and taking ibuprofen or Tylenol daily for leg and ankle pain for a broken, collapsed ankle before ankle implant surgery.....I couldn't sleep at night because of the pain. I was put in the hospital for bleeding ulcers and pancreatitis. I think the Tylenol and ibuprofen every 4 hours did the most damage. I could not get prescription pain medicine for chronic debilitating pain and I was eating OTC meds like candy. and they only took the edge off. Now the duloxetine feels toxic for me. It always caused an indigestion feeling. I don't know what to do for my chronic pain, stiffness, lymphadena and neuropathy now and my doctor won't change the duloxetine to something else. I would like to know if anyone has this problem and if they found help. Another thing, my large intestine was removed when I was 28, I am 72 now. Many years of pain, gut problems and feeling awful.
Yeah it didn't help at all I have spondylolithesis good luck
It was awful for me. Bad NAUSEA, and a drugged feeling, needing to lay down, and a headache.
I'm....not....going....to....take....it.
All the drugs affect me badly. Gabapentin will give you leg and toe cramps, bad ones and make you feel like you are drugged all the time.
I do know people who can tolerate Gabapentin well, just not me.
I hate nausea. So they are both off the table for me!
