Macular pucker after cataract surgery

Hi All,

I am new to this site.

Funny, I live in Ocala also, but had cataract surgery in Clearwater.

Had a lot of pain in left eye after surgery. Right eye great, no issues, very clear vision. Left eye has the wavy lines. Can't read unless I cover left eye. Getting worse over 7 months. Saw 4 docs- 2 from facility that did cataracts, 2 from different facility. All say it is macular pucker and not connected to cataract surgery. I don't understand that, since I did not have any waviness at all before surgery. so discouraged.

Same thing happened to me. I was told it was common after cataract surgery. Laser treatment helped only a little. Some time later I was having my regular eye test and when reading the chart everything was blurry and wavy in one eye. Diagnosed as an Epiretinal membrane. Possible solution is surgery but not always successful, I was advised not to do it by a retinal specialist. It seems to be getting worse, so of course I am worried. I read on the web that it can be a result of having cataract surgery, I have an appt. with the specialist in late June. I'll report back here afterwards if you are interested.
